Hi there,

Question to you “love the drive” deflector users: can the top (the vertical part) be folded down for driving? It is sooo huge.

And second question: is there any deflector out there, where the vertical part is way shorter, e.g. half as high, max as high as the headrests??

Thanks a lot in advance!

Yes you can fold it down. It s very easy even when you drive. There is some metal part that are easy to catch to do it
But when you do that there is no efficiency
I have nerver found a lower screen for the mustang.

I would suggest the one Ford sells in Europe. Much lower and better looking.

Unfortunately it's raining out, so I can't take a photo of my vert with it fitted.

Yes, I’ve seen the european one and I don’t get why Ford does not sell them in the US  It would be my favourite design - it even has the Pony on it.

I had hoped that it at least cuts out the air flow between the seats - that’s the main thing I don’t like on 4-seater convertibles. And folding the top part down worked for me when we had the Focus CC (again, the vertical part was way too high).

May be it's a bit usefull when it's folded, i didn't try with and without when it's folded. But i can say even when it's unfolded, there is some wind coming back between the seats at the bottom, near the harmrest. Sometimes i put a blanket in this section and it cuts the wind very well.

With it folded down, I'd guess it's about 70% as effective as with it up.

Thanks for the feedback. I don't mind the cold air around my head - have been driving convertibles with top down at freezing temps. It's more the cold air that gets in between the seats and into the footwell that bothers me in winter.

They do make two types one that works with a light bar and one that doesn't. The light bar version might be what your looking for. Looking back I wish I would have gotten that one due to the lower profile and having the option for adding a light bar later.

I did have a look at those and indeed they are lower and I'd prefer their profile - but they are also mounted further back than the bigger ones. Hence the part that covers the seats does not come forward far enough IMHO.

There is a company (airstoper.com) that makes those "hoods" that go over the headrests (similar to what Mercedes has (or had) for the SLK) and also covers the space between the seats. I will give those a try and will let you know how they work.
