The Competitions are hairy balls loud and can drone at the right RPM. However, after a month now, the drone has tamed a bit. With that being said, I also have a convertible, so with the top down, I can't notice any drone. Must be a cabin acoustic thing. At this point, I don't even notice it unless I think about it first. Looking forward to LT headers one day and a blower... "Drone, what drone? Holy shit, I'm doing 120 already!" LOL

Bottom line is get what you love and love what you get.

You're onto something with the cabin acoustics. I wind my windows down to let the sound escape...

You may want to check out the MF tru-x resonated x-pipe from CJ Pony.
this, i dont have magnaflow exhaust, but my kooks catless with 3" borla s type catback was unbearable, this fixed it 100%. not sure if the OP wants to drop another few hundred on his exhaust though

What I'm going to do is reinstall the factory resonator and see how it sounds.

I'll see you then

Not sure if this helps the OP but mine used to drone at 110km/h (65?) in sixth gear at cruise throttle. Fitted PMAS today, sound tube deleted, SOOOO much better.
No drone under the same conditions and I now have to push the pedal pretty hard to get drone. YMMV.

Can you be a bit more explicit? What exactly have you done?

Ok, let's do this.
For clarity, I'm running 1 7/8" LT headers with 100 Cel cats.
I have 2 x 15" hotdogs (glass packs) in total (1 per side).
I added a PMAS CAI (previously AirAid) and deleted the sound tube to the cabin.
Drone is substantially reduced. It still exists, but it isn't as prevalent.
I'd suggest sound tube delete as a first line and maybe either some glass packs or better yet, a proper centre muffler of some description if it still needs it.
TheMagnaflow tone is awesome. I'd do what I could to keep that sound.

Well. The first thing I'm going to do is go back to the stock resonator and remove the sound tube. Next we'll see

This afternoon I will install the stock resonator again, I have already prepared the appropriate reductions.

I will continue to report on my progress...

I installed the stock resonator and the conclusions are very positive.

There is no drone in any situation,From outside the car the volume at idle is high, but it allows you to hear the engine,Inside the car, on the fly the volume is correct, higher than the stock but not annoying.
Today I will temporarily remove the sound tube to see how it is heard inside the car.

That's great. I had my sound tube plugged at the intake for a while but connected it back on again. I think I like it better that way now but I find the exhaust sounds slightly different depending on outside temperature anyway so who knows I may plug it back again when it gets cold.

Sound tube deleted,Much better as well :headbang:

I am thinking of installing the Roush Cold air kit without tune by the moment,I suppose it will improve the breathing of the engine, but,Is there a lot of volume increase in the sound of the admission?,Or is it a nice sound?
