I ordered four SVE S350 20" wheels and I want to replace my stock Pirelli P Zeros. I have a Whipple Stage 2 on the way, and I have Steeda struts, Progressive springs (drops 1" F/R) , Stop the Hop kit, and F/R sway bars waiting to be installed. I was about to pull the trigger on a set of Nitto NT55 G2, but the Michelin Pilot Sport 4S keeps holding me back. I've had Michelins on other vehicles, and I was always impressed with their quietness and performance, especially in the rain. I live near Houston, and while it doesn't get very cold here, it rains a lot. I know the Whipple will be able to melt anything I get, but I am wondering if the Michelin PS4S are really worth the extra $$

The 4s will have better wet and dry traction then anything in the Performance street tire market. I have them on my s4, had a set of their predecessor mpss on my caddy and will be putting a set of 4s on my gt for wet weather.

I went from regular NT05 tires to MPS4S and the Michelins are 100 times better in every way. NT555 G2 might last a little longer but michelin will out perform them.

I have no experience with the MPS4S but I'd say anything has to be better than the G2's. I don't hate the tire and due to price and size availability I'll probably get them again but they're definitely sketchy when its wet. With FI you'd have almost no traction under throttle. I find it a little too easy to break the rear loose in 2nd when the roads are wet and I'm almost stock. This is with a 295/35/20 tire BTW.

We have done over 100+ Mustangs on MPS4S all we get is nothing but positive feedback!
More traction on dry / wet road. Overall best performance ratings.

I decided to go with the Michelins. I also sent you a pm. Thanks

Both are solid options.

I like Nitto tires but those MPS4S are solid as hell.

When will a 4s be available in 315/35/20 though?

How does everyone feel about Firestone Firehawks? Those Michelin's sound great but they are around 40% more than the Firestones.

If they are 40% better I wouldn't mind!

Firestones get good reviews, I don't know the treadwear number? I recently bought two Bridgestone Potenza S-04 pole positions 255/45/18 as I had a nail in my P Zero Nero sidewall. Treadwear rated 280 and quite a good review from Car and Driver. I need wider wheels #gofundme, lol.

Are those Bridgestones basically the same tire?

Yeah I ordered the Michelin PS4S because I've never found a tire with better wet performance than Michelins.
I have read many comments about NT555 poor traction in the rain, especially with FI.
The PS4S were $416 more than the Nittos...but compared to what I've already invested in the car, what is another $416? lol :headbonk:
If I wrap it around a pole, it won't be because I cheaped out on tires.

Get the Conti Sport tires. As good as (by evidence) the Michelin PSS and you'll probably spend up to $400 less (I spent $420 less). The MP4 is a better tire, sure, but $400 better?
