You guys are hilarious. I appreciate the various nut pictures.. I am tired of destroying these Factory nuts. The Ford nuts are far too easy to crush.

The gorilla nuts you torque to 150 ft lb?

Do you have a part number for the ones that you're using? I really like your nuts
Gorilla 96643BDX, torqued to 150 by me on multiple occasions with no problems.

There seem to be two distinctly different approaches to lug nut torque in the auto industry. For instance, F32 4-series BMW's have M14x1.5 wheel hardware torqued to 100 ft-lbs, while Ford has adopted M14x1.5 wheel hardware torqued to 150 ft-lbs.

The problem this has created is that there's a bunch of aftermarket hardware available that works fine at 100 ft-lbs but really isn't strong enough to be used at 150 ft-lbs.

I have to use open-end lug nuts on my front axle because I have extended studs, and the only ones I'll use are OEM GM nuts that are spec'd for 145 ft-lbs by Chevrolet.

*EDIT* Sorry Tomster, I missed your first suggestion. I actually had a locking solution provided from a quality manufacturer, as I don't trust $10K to a single locking lug. As for torque - since I've heard some have issues with snapping lugs at 150, I stopped at 135 ft. lbs.
I torque to 135 ft lbs as well.
