Hopefully this is an OK forum to post this in. Just wanted to rant to some people who might sympathize with my frustrations. My car has been in the shop since Thursday. This is the 3rd time with AC problems. It is concerning at best and greatly, greatly worrying at worst. I bought this car with hopes of keeping it as a recreational vehicle for years to come. Anyone else dealing with these problems?

* Visit 1. Car started having inconsistent blower speeds. You could hear the fans slowing down and speeding back up while at levels 4-6. Called the dealership told them I thought my blower was failing. Took it in. They gave it back 2 days later saying it was a bad capacitor. Blower was tested fine. I felt uneasy as the tech originally said they would replace the blower and cap, and they didn't. They assured me, sent me on my way.

* Visit 2. About a week out from visit 1, blower starts dipping in and out again. I call back quite annoyed. They have me bring it in, give me a loaner, send me on my way. I ask for updates throughout the whole process. It's 1 year old and has only 12k miles, I'm quite annoyed. They call me and tell me the capacitor is showing varying voltage. They replace it again. Doesn't fix it. They tell me that the voltage going into the bezel in the cab of the car is off (apparently the bezel has wiring ran through it) so they replace a bezel. I'm baffled by this still. It doesn't fix anything. They call and tell me a specialist is coming to look at it from another dealership. They replace the bezel again, no luck. Reprogram, no luck. Specialist says to replace blower "just to see", issues goes away. Oy... like I originally said, bad blower.

* Fast forward maybe 3 weeks, more like 2.5. Car isn't cooling well. I start messing with the AC to see what is happening and try to diagnose. Determine that dual zone basically keeps faulting and sending hot air through one side or the other randomly. Only way to fix it to turn the car off and on. Numerous forum posts confirm this is a bad actuator. Car went back Thursday, didn't get looked at until late Friday, still haven't heard if I'll get it back Monday.

* This is all on top of me being already beyond annoyed that the "cooled" seat design in these cars is utter, worthless, horse poop that only works 50% of the time.

Rant over. Anyone have any kind words to share? Mutual stories? Fun jokes to tide me over another day without my car?

Find another Dealer; seems like the Dealer you are taking the car to is totally incompetent (or they are throwing a newbie Tech on it)...

Interesting thought, the one I'm using is well known around here and has been my go to for awhile even before this car. But if I have another problem you make a good point that it's worth trying another dealership. I'm in DFW in Texas and I've heard the Grapevine Ford dealer is very Mustang friendly and has good guys working it. May have to give them a shot. Currently driving about 30 minutes out of my way to use this dealer, so far they've called me and provided me bi-daily updates at a minimum on what they tested, how they tested, what they replaced, and why they replaced it. It appears that Ford is now having techs use a system that has steps. With the last AC repair, they did all the steps. Was still broke, that's when they replaced the blower even though it was testing good.

Go to another dealer and see what they say. I know when I get my '18 I'll be driving 20 minutes to go to the dealer I bought it from just because they are better than the one around here.

I hear ya...my ac is fine but these cooled seats actually get HOT after 15/20 minutes...somebody on here has a long post on why it happens and how the dealer will not fix it. Can't imagine dealing with your issues in texas!

Yeah, it's just a piss poor design. I've looked under the seat and seen why, at some point I'll likely pick up some flex hose from Lowes and run the intake farther away from the floorboard where it can get some cool air.

my blower speed will vary rapidly sometimes if I leave the controls on auto.

I'm guessing the low-pass filter on the sun load sensor was poorly designed.
When mine started this, I took it off auto to see if it was an auto issue or a blower issue. Very quickly realized it was a blower issue. Might be worth checking out. Mine was very easy to reproduce the problem on speed 6, right blow max. You could quickly start hearing the blower dipping in and out not holding a consistent speed.

I did the same thing.

As soon as I took it off of auto it steadied out.

Premium features on a cheap Ford is just asking for trouble. I have no regrets going for the base model.

Since when did AC/climate control become a premium feature?
Premium features was more of a general thing, than simply "AC".

Cooled seats, dual zone climate control, and "leather" seats are premium features.

Don't be mad that you spent more money for junk.

That's a pretty healthy serving of cope right there.

For the record, this issue affects those without ACC as well so your argument is invalid.
