Was able to combine a #8 and #10..was perfect and comfortable to the eyes. Really regret not traveling 40 minutes south to totality path. .oh well its coming close by here in 2024..The sunglasses will be of absolutely no use. I don't know for sure about the welding goggles but I would say officially you need the proper ISO-certified solar glasses to reduce your risk of vision damage.
Did you take the interstate back into ky? ..theres 3-4 alternate routes to get out of Tenn and thru ky..31w..31e..etc.Drove down from Pittsburgh area and watched from White House, TN. After the eclipse decided to drive and stay in Florence, KY which is about 1/2 way home. From where we were it's normally a 3-1/2 hour drive. After the eclipse though, it took 10 hours. It was a long (in hours, not distance) sucky drive. The whole journey there and back wasn't exactly fun but for totality it was worth it. Our location at a community park and everything the local chamber of commerce did for the event was great. Can't say enough about White House, TN and their hospitality. I will be ready for 2024. I will do some things different for sure, but I'll be there.
Yeah, went up I-65. Google seemed to think it was the best route so I went with it. Wouldn't really be surprised if the other routes were just as clogged. All I know is it sucked. If I were to do it again I'd take more time off of work and stick around for a couple days before driving home.Did you take the interstate back into ky? ..theres 3-4 alternate routes to get out of Tenn and thru ky..31w..31e..etc.
