Test Drives

I am at a point where I am crossing shopping either a new GT350 or used GT350 against some other similar cars.

I understand getting to actually drive one is going to be complicated, but I can't buy something without driving it.

For those that have been allowed to test drive either from dealers or private parties, how did you do it?

Ah, just ask? But good fawking luck...

Put a deposit down and start the paperwork. Most will allow if you are really serious about buying it.

I saw a picture of one and ordered it.

Find a used car to drive. Much easier to test drive than a new one. I drove a 2016, no track pack. When I get a little time I plan on test driving a used 2017. Both are available used around here. I wouldn't buy before driving either, good luck.

I got lucky and was able to test drive both that I have bought. I’ve bought 5+ vehicles from this dealer so I’m sure that helped.

I test drove a used one... I bought it They said they didn't let anybody else test drive but since I was dead serious about spending the money they let me go (with sales guy with me)

Where are you in NY? I'm in Upstate and am planning on selling my 2016.

I had no trouble test driving the low mileage 2017 GT350 I bought at a dealer. But I had my wife along and I'm old enough they probably figure I can't do too much damage. They just tossed me the keys and said take her down the road.

But the past owners of the Dealership have been real a-holes in the past. When I went to look for my 2003 Lightning (again with my wife along) they wouldn't let me drive one at first - but then said if I would submit to a credit check they would consider allowing me to. I said knock yourself out because I'm not buying a car without test driving it. Our circumstances are that we always have a high credit score and their whole tone changed when they came back from running it and they couldn't get us a set of keys fast enough. Still pissed me off however.

I bought mine unseen much less not test driven....last Ford i had driven was my ‘90 Lx 5.0....so i took a chance!

All of the local dealers I visited wouldn't let anybody test drive unless they put a deposit down and wanted 5-10K over sticker. I just wound up buying mine without a test drive and sight unseen from an out of state dealer that did MSRP.

If anyone has a chance to buy one of Tob's cars....DO IT!!!

Bought mine without having even seen a GT350 or 350R in person. No regrets.
