Went for a drive rinsed off the car and when I opened the hood I see water in the intake.I'm afraid to drive this in the rain now till I can find a way to seal the open end next to the fender.looks to me the engineers could have designed this better.Especially on something that cost $279

There hasnt been an overwhelming water issue with the intake and we've run them year round, you would have to hit quite a puddle to get that much water past the hood at speed. I wouldn't sweat normal rain.

Thanks for responding but for my own peace of mind I think I'll seal it up anyhow.

You'd have to submerge the entire intake in water to hydrolock your motor. I've been running the Roush hood vents over my open Steeda intake for 12000+ miles through rain and car washes...never had an issue.

I know the engine bay isn't waterproof and I know water can enter thru the grill intake but a ounce of prevention :)

Update

I couldn't find the same size seal that Roush uses and it must be too expensive for them to send me any so I came up with this solution.so far it works haven't driven in hard rain yet.Anyone with a open air box may want to run this setup.

Don't need to sealed it like Roush should have.
