So, I broke some of it down just to do some side-by-side

2017
Base GT $33195
Base GT+PP $37090

Premium GT $38095
Premium+PP $41090
Premium+401A $39890
Premium 401A+PP $42885

2018
Base GT $35095
Base+PP $41190 includes 301A - build and price lets you put PP without 301A but the other materiel leads me to believe it's mandatory.

Premium GT $39995
Premium+PP $43990
Premium+401A $42195
Premium401A+PP $46190

I left off active exhaust and Magnaride since they were not in 2017. I think the big pricing trick here is the 301A package. I think you can make a fair argument that even though inflation in 2017 is around 1.5%, you are getting an extra 25HP for the $2k base price increase. But in addition to that you get an additional $2K for the 301A which then carries upstream to each additional major package increase. That and the $1000 increase in the PP make for a 3-4K increase across the board. In my opinion it would have been much more palletable to just ditch the 300A package and increase base price by another $500, particularly since you need the 301A for the PerfPack so you can't even make the argument that the 300A is just there for guys who want max performance at minimum price. That tiny screen and preposterous keypad have no place in 2018 in a 35K car. It has no place in a $20K car.

Have to agree with you on this one. But heck the bottom line is "How Fat is Your Wallet Now" ;)

even 50k is insane for a regular GT. Look for a Corvette GS, they are sitting on the lot, and you can get a 1LT GS for low 60s. :clap2:

I would wait a little more and get the 2LT GS. Has a little more features and a front facing camera for parking.
Another Viper owner in the stang boards!! Nice..

As for a 1LT GS.. you can get them in the mid to high 50s if you really look around.

Wait till December - then buy a 2017 1LT GS. I think 20% off msrp will be easy

Modify - make partial or minor changes to (something), typically so as to improve it or to make it less extreme or more in the our case.

I assure you that under Mods your going to have a heart attack when I finish my

I think most new cars are getting stupid expensive, and it's evident by some of the financing options available nowadays. Hell, they offer 84 month loans nowadays. That's insane.

It doesn't help that wage growth has stagnated, yet inflation and vehicle prices continue to rise and rise.

2nd that "wage growth", I am struggling to pay my $30,000 GT due to my 3.7 trade-in which made my OTD $37,000 ouch!

301A isn't mandatory for GT+PP. It is mandatory only if you want magneride. It is weird, especially when you don't need 401A in the premium to get magneride.

you're struggling because you made a bad financial decision, not because of macro economic forces beyond your control

While I agree the pricing for the 2018 Stang's is higher than most everyone expected, the prices are in line with the 2017, and probably 2018, Camaro. What I don't like, however, is how Ford managed the available options and packages; if one wants the Magna Ride suspension, the PP has to be included. This essentially makes it a $5700.00 option.
.
What I don't get is why would anyone want magnetic ride WITHOUT the PP. There is no reason to honestly have it if you aren't going to be tracking the car and if you are tracking the car you're gonna want the PP.

Agreed, I would think my driving will be typical of most Mustang drivers as it will entail driving in the city 99% of the time with a lot of highway/traffic commuting. Getting out of the city to visit fam occasionally a couple times a quarter but the car will mostly be for flooring it on the highway here and there for a quick thrill but that is about it.

Thus I've already ruled out Magneride. It will be replaced with HD radio, active exhaust, and security package.
