I am not a defender of fields, but I am not really sure of the future of ford performance. The new ceo is in perfect step with Bill Fords idea of making ford a mobility company. All of those future performance vehicles by 2020 you can kiss goodbye. Ford is going to slash and cut its way to try and make investors happy. I think the reason why we haven't seen or heard any info on new performance vehicles should be quite obvious now. All they have done is just add another year to gt350 production. It does not even get the updated bodywork. It brings back bad memories of the last time performance died at ford. Ford pulled all financial backing from racing, future performance engines were cancelled. The gt350 and 500s were given new vins to carry over from 69 to 70. The only real difference is 70 got black hood stripes. I hope this isn't deja vu all over again.

I'm not too worried about the new hire. Hybrids are slated for the immediate future and we all know it's coming. I doubt the next 4 years they take away what they already had in the pipeline. I'm sure every SE for the next couple years have already had most of the R and D done, to ditch them now would be a money loser. Better to see it thru..
The reason stocks are in the shitter is because there is a glut of used/leased cars on the market and people aren't buying new like they were 4 years ago. GM is going thru the same thing.
We'll see what happens but at worse i get a foreign car

I hold out on the resurgence of the hot rod community but, seeing nobody will stick together, I can see the decline coming myself. At least we have some really nice "used stock" to pick over in the future if gasoline isn't banned from use. I'll drive till I die with a grin on my face!

I think its gonna be $69,999 starting MSRP. With packages possibly reaching upto $85k. Then add in the "normal" ADMS of $10k to $20k and we are lookimg at a $100k mustang.

Yeah base price on the next 500 has got to be at least mid 60s for sure. A couple options and sales tax and you will rapidly eclipse the 75K mark which is getting into the danger zone for a Pony Car regardless of performance. Could you imagine how cool a 750HP Mustang right out of the factory would be.

With just a supercharger on it and the 350 bits starts at 65k and tops at 76k. The KR, if there is one, I'd guess will be in the 82k range. Start trying to find a dealer that doesn't mark up, while you're waiting for it to unveil.

Does anyone have any idea what kind of engine speed the CP 5.2 supercharged will reach?

I don't see 8,000 at all. 7000-7200 more likely.

The new GT500 IS NOT going to be FPC supercharged.
It "may" be CPC supercharged, but not FPC. Unless, Ford keeps the boost under 8-9lbs. And, I don't see that happening.

Yes I know. Reread my post.

Ford performance currently produces an 8,000rpm CP engine.

No worries brother. I'm a little bumed this powertrain is likely supercharged.

The KR might have a different powertrain but will be super hard to get.

I think the Gt500 will be 8000 rpm just like the crate motor. Could be wrong, we'll see.

Not in my opinion. They'll probably run into belt slippage. Drag cars can get away with it (cobra jet) but not in a street application.

Although 8000rpm will make this another special engine FPC or CPC. Let's see what happens. I hope you're right!

I think I'm not in the majority on this site, but I want it to be supercharged.
Some of the guys on the other Mustang forum do as well.
