Hi Guys, Since I have had the car acceleration has not been linear. When accelerating around 6-6500 rpm there is a significant increase in torque that unsettles the car and if accelerating out of a corner on track kicks the rear end out.

I thought this was normal behavior and maybe it was just a quirk of this car until I attended the track attack a few weeks ago. I found the track attack car to be much more linear and enjoyable to drive on track.

I've tried to get the issue diagnosed but my dealer has been no help.

Would love to hear any thoughts on what you think could be causing this.

Thanks

Do you feel the bump in torque at 3500?

I like to disassemble things.

What gear are you in when this is happening and at what speeds?

Above 3.5k it's like a small turbo kicking in and then at 6k I could feel the engine pull harder (gotta love this engine!) but I don't feel a sudden bump of power like you suggest. I don't believe the increase at 6k has ever unsettled the car on track. Strange.

Is your car modded in any way?

Find a shop with a dyno and do a couple runs. This will give you a torque/power curve that will let you visualize this torque increase and compare it to others.

For reference, here is what mine looks like (blue is mine, red is coyote engine):

Ugh every time I see a dyno chart of our cars, the low range makes me cringe...
Dude, its just basically VTEC kicking in.... except when it kicks in our cars actually make some power  :D

Well yeah, I know. It's clearly nit picky but still. Eh, whatever, probably should go worry about something that really matters. Like the rock chip I got last week on my hood.
