If I was to make a guess....... I would think it probably has something to do with the space, or lack of, between the rear seat and the retracted top. :shrug:

I took a look at it today. Aside from there being very little space between the top and the back of the seat, I looked at the motion of the top itself. As it retracts, the last piece moves in to place diagonally over the rear seats. Anything permanently mounted there would get in the way.:mad:

I guess when you get a better fitting retractable roof, something has to suffer:tsk:

But on the bright side, my “Love the Drive” deflector functions great:thumbsup:
