Looks freaking great!!! Trying to decide on 18 or 19. Recommendations for 295 or 305 square setup on a 17 S550?
Appreciate it  I would be happy to assist with any fitment questions that you have. In effort to give you the right fitment recommendations, we like to ask a few basic questions:

  • Do you plan on using this as a daily street setup, a double duty street and track setup, or track only setup?
  • What type of tire compound would you like to run (summer, extreme summer, r-compound, slick)?
  • Do you have adjustable camber plates installed, or are you willing to purchase them?

Thanks for the quick reply.......

Primarily street with some track but majority street
Something comparable to the Michelin Pilot or like tire
Prefer not too since car will be street mostly

Poke is not an option.......... :)

Thanks again!

Without spacer the tires were very close to the strut. The little tire hairs are touching. It's around 3mm of clearance. This is all on a 2016 GT PP with completely stock suspension.

With 5mm spacers. Everything clears just fine.
pnzheOH.jpg

With the 5mm spacer I couldn't get enough thread engagement on the stock lug nuts (only around 5 turns or so) So I had to go with longer studs too. 3mm was the largest spacer that I could go and still get bout 7.5 turns with the stock lug nuts.

Let me know how the 295s fit.
The 3mm clearance you speak of, was that measured from the wheel to strut or tire to strut? Thanks

Appreciate the info. If this is going to be predominantly a street car with street tires, I would forgo pushing the limits of the front end with 305 tires. This will require our 11" wheel, spacers to clear the suspension, extended studs to support the spacer installation, and aggressive negative camber specs (requires camber plates) - all par for the course on a track/race oriented car looking to maximize performance at all costs, however not very palatable or warranted for a daily driver.

I would recommend one of the following fitments for your application, which will still reduce weight and widen things up substantially over the stock configuration:

Square:
Front & Rear: EC-7 19x10" ET40 - 285/35-19 Michelin PS4S

Staggered:
Front: EC-7 19x10" ET40 - 285/35-19 Michelin PS4S
Rear: EC-7 19x11" ET52 - 325/30-19 Michelin PS4S

The staggered fitment would supply you with more rear end grip at the expense of rotating wheels and tires on all four corners. Both are very popular fitments and deciding between the two really comes down to what you value most in a wheel/tire setup.

We have the wheels, tires and sensors in stock, and offer free mounting and balancing with our packages. PM me if you would like more details.

I'm strictly street. Will the Front & Rear: EC-7 19x10" ET40 - 285/35-19 Michelin PS4S give me the flush i'm looking for. I assumed that the ET40 offset would tuck too far under the fenders. Help a novice out!

if ordering 18x10 ec7's, what is recommended sidewall for a 285 width tire? 35 or 40?

This is a very popular fitment for the front of the S550 (and S197). The front wheels and tires will sit flush with the fenders :D Here are two examples of that exact wheel and tire size.

Both work, it really depends on what tire brand and model you are looking for as not every size is always offered. A slightly shorter sidewall will give you better gearing, so keep that in mind.

What tire do you plan on running?

I was looking at the ps4s, but im not sure they have a suitable 18 inch tire for this size, what are people typically using... I may just have to get 19's to get the ps4s

I would like to replace your company center caps with these aftermarket replacements (Diameter 2.125"/54mm) Will they fit?

I would like to pare your wheels with the Michelin Pilot Sport 4S 285/35/19

Lastly, Do the TPMS sensors you install activate automatically upon mounting the tires?...and do you offer the EC7 wheel in a gloss black finish with Black OEM lug nuts?

You are correct, the new PS4S is only available in a 19" diameter at this time (18's are on the horizon). If you were to go with 18" wheels, you could run Michelin PSS in 285/35-18 which we have in stock :)

Appreciate your interest. If the center cap in question is made to fit the OEM wheels, than they will work with our wheels as well (our wheels were deigned specifically to accept the factory center caps).

When purchasing wheel, tire and TPMS packages from us, we mount and balance everything for free, and the OE HUF sensors we supply are just like your sensors from the factory. They are outfitted with metal color matched valve stems to ensure the hardware blends in with your wheel finish :) No sensor programming is required on your behalf, simply install the wheels when they arrive to your doorstep, and conduct the sync process within your vehicle using the standard process per your vehicle manual.

We offer a Satin Black finish, which is not "dry" or "chalky" looking like some matte black finishes, and not an overly glossy finish which is very difficult to keep clean. With over 10 years of track/race testing, this satin black finish has proven to work best with brake dust etc. Here is a close up shot of the Satin Black finish with our gloss black APEX center cap for you.

Good news! The 18x11 EC-7's work with 315/30/18 Hoosiers with a 25mm spacer. I have aFe/Pfadt coilovers. They have slotted upper bolt holes that attach to the spindle to get extra camber(I had mine pulled all the way in). I had to re-center the strut to keep them from rubbing. That equates to about 1 degree of camber loss(-3.5 compared to -2.5).

A few pictures from Road Atlanta this weekend with the 315's.

Brent - wow, your car just keeps getting better and better. :headbang:

We just released a blog feature on our customer Frank's supercharged S550 also running the 18x11" wheels.

APEX 18x11" ET52 EC-7 wheels
305 Nitto NT01 Tires on all 4 corners
30mm spacer up front (used originally to clear the factory struts, new aFe coilovers would allow a smaller spacer)
-3 degrees camber up front
-2 degrees camber in the rear
