Hearing a loud squealing noise like a bad belt but it only happens when the car is hot and i mainly hear it driving at low speeds in 1st and 2nd. Had OPG's installed recently and the mechanic told me that he noticed some coolant on the water pump weep hole. Does this sound like a bad water pump?

Very possible. I have a friend who just brought his car in for the same kind of sound & same conditions, and they think it is the water pump. His had zero engine mods/work, however. mindys

Seems like it may be the same thing. Here is how mine sounds:

I should have the pump replaced early next week. I'll update if this fixes the issue.

One thing I also noticed is that my coolant overflow tank level was just below the minimum line. I added some coolant a month or so ago and I don't think the level decreased yet.

Just to update, water pump replacement did not fix the issue (as I assumed). They are saying that the sound is coming from around cylinder 6 and 7 valves. So something with the driver side cam. I will let you know what the exact issue is when it gets sorted out.

For me there was a machining issue on the driver's side cylinder head. They replaced my entire cylinder head and that fixed the issue. I had no water pump issues.

My issue ended up not being the water pump. It was the stock cats. Put some headers on it back in September and haven't heard the noise since.
