HR871 - The story

Today, another '17 GT350R was born. HR871, yes you heard that right, 871 was assembled and is about to roll off the line. A good friend has been keeping tabs on it through its stages of production. I was informed today that I may share the chassis number photo with a portion of the sticker.

It has been a long wait. I ordered this car back in May of '16 through an allocation by my dealer after the initial buyer backed out. It was number 1 of 3 allocations, but since I was the last to purchase, I tuned into slot #3. It has been a long wait.

The wait was an exercise in patience and I wasn't fully comfortable with the process until I found out that it was a true allocation from the Ford rep. One thing that did make it easier was that I was driving a '16 GT350 track pack which has been recently traded in for a '17 triple yellow GT350R. Congrats Tom! Good number! Boy they are gonna reach the 1000 mark this year. Would be nice if they kept it to 3 digits 999 ;)

Yours was built 640 after mine. Mine was built october 10th. Got it november 1st 2016.
So really, in a years time they will have built around 750 R's

What, if any is the stripe color?

By far the highest chassis number I've seen yet. The last I paid attention we were at 606 or something like that.

The car is avalanche grey with black stripes.

Congrats! I'm happy to hear your wait paid off, however your TY R kept you company during your wait

Now you have one for the track and one for the street. Are both equipped with the Tech package? If not, slap some Hoosiers on the car without the radio.

I love my R, but I just couldn't justify two R's in a real, practical situation for me (and most). But I have to admit, it would be really cool!

The plan is baby the new one and use the yellow one for track and fun and trade the yellow in towards a gt500 down the road. I got the triple yellow at such a screaming deal that it was essentially trading my track pack for an R, plus a small difference.

A no brainer if you ask me.

I am a Black and Red guy when it comes to body colors but having said that I am really looking forward to seeing AG with Black OTT stripes with a Red pinstripe.

It's going to look outstanding and a totally different direction from your TY R which I also like a lot as well.

Can't wait for the pictures!

Mine has to be close to your chassis number, I know they where pretty close in the production stage, waiting for my cool photo as well. I heard mine was in the MOD area, Cotus says its already in transit, haha.
