Hey Guys,

I am entertaining the idea of trading in my 2017 GT Performance Package for a 2016 GT350 with just under 3K miles.

Obviously, the GT350 is a better car and I take my car to the local road course 1-2 times a month.

My question is whether or not I should be concerned with this vehicle in particular. It appears to have some (minor) mods, and a few of the body panels have poor fitment - see pics of rear bumper and front splitter.

Mods visible on the car: MGW 'cobra' knob (felt like a shifter too), LED interior lights, JLT catchcan, painted valve covers, and what looked like aftermarket resonators.

Should any of these mods or panel fitment be turnoffs or bad signs?

Bumper cover alignment and body panel issues is a known problem from factory. The splitter also looks good. From what you mentioned and showing I don't think you have much to worry about. However!!! how was the car cared for during the 3k miles? Maintenance history? Completed recalls? That is what would concern me.

I understand about the body panel alignment, as my GT suffers from that as well, but on the Shelby it looked more like a bulge.

The gap on the splitter shouldnt be of concern?

I forgot to add the car also has a clear front bra and clutch spring (or so it felt like).

I will search for the recalls, but what should I lookout for?

I will inquire about the maintenance records. Are thee any big ticket items should have have been completed within the first 3k miles?

Im confused, it has less than 3k miles, the car hasn't reached its first oil change let alone have any maintenance records unless the car was tracked. Id be worried about how the car was driven, and if the engine has ever gone over redline due to a mis-shift, driven hard when the engine is cold, etc. Not sure if its even possible to find out.

I will also add that the price of the car seems a little high, but so is what they are offering for my trade.

They are asking $57,900 for the car - tech package and 2800 miles with the handful of minor mods.

You could get a brand new 2017 for about 2-3k more. Knowing the 17's have the coolers, personally I would spend the extra 2-3k for the coolers alone. and piece of mind knowing your the only one who has driven/modified it is another bonus.

I completely agree, and that is my mindset as well. I do track my car, and would do the same with the 350. From what I read they are a must - especially in Texas.

Whats confusing? At 3k miles I had attended 2 track events and did 2 oil changes, adjusted alignment, fenders and bumpers adjusted etc. All maintenance

Pass on the tech and it should have had at least 1 oil change done by now. A true enthusiast would have had the oil changed before it reached 1K miles.

Not to mention Track Attack is included with the cost of the new car.

I like to disassemble things.
I agree with the above, pass on a Tech model if you plan on tracking and find go Track Pack/R if a '15/'16 or find a '17 as the requisite coolers are standard.

The splitter looks off in those pictures. I'd be looking closer to see it it was due to it never being installed properly or if there was an impact down low.
