So I installed the flowmaster outlaws yesterday and so far they've been droning a lot at certain RPM's.. Does the tone or drone go away after they've settled in?
Drone may get louder, but certainly not quiter.

I'm hoping they start sounding better after a few exhaust upgrades and a tune.

Here is my new setup. Just installed the Flowmaster American Thunder kit 817748. I think it sounds great. Low rumble, pretty tame at idle. Not much rasp even at WOT. No popping/cracking on develop to be noticed. Only thing I will say is there is some drone depending on what gear and speed but between 1800-2400 rpm. I don't mind it and even my wife likes it. Others may disapprove but since this is a play car for me and I don't commute with it, it's certainly fine with me.

Maybe it's just the new sounds, but I definitely feel like it has a lot more top end power. After comparing the stock mufflers to the Flowmaster, I can't imagine there not being some flow improvement.

Here's a video.

icarumba,
Are both these videos with stock exhaust manifolds? Did they do the header development and fitment on your V6 convertible AFTER they did the axle and cat back development and testing with the stock exhaust manifolds?
Love this story!

And I'm VERY MUCH looking forward to the video JT at Holley says he'll make of the interior noise level on the axle back w/ muffler set up when you have time to get back to Hooker in Bowling Green later this month. Of course your Hooker/Blackheart headers are already on, but I'll be curious for JT's thoughts if headers would tend to add to interior drone or dissipate it to any noticeable degree. JT has already said the AB w/ mufflers has NO drone. I'm going to need to take the 'trust but verify' policy w/ regard to reports of no drone. :) We all know well that FlowMaster claims no drone on their website even after forum members painfully experienced unbearable drone.
I am cautiously optimistic for JT's video later this month! :)

Thanks

Yup, both videos were done before the headers or any other mods were installed. Bone stock except for the AB or CB.

If anyone is interested in learning more about the development of these systems, click on the link in my signature for the story.

At idle, the rumble is close to V8 :p

Ford should make JV with Borla and should make this as atleast it available in optional package. Just a though tho :ford::headbang:

Hey dudes just an FYI American Muscle has review videos up of the S-Type and Atak catbacks on their website.

Watched the Atak review and it's very good and descriptive. Should be helpful for you guys contemplating the systems out there.
