$$$$$$ to get 18s that'll fit. Why not just get 19s?
Tire options. And no $$$$$. Would be just like any other wheel. CCW C10s are common for clearing massive brakes and they're $800 per corner. Or you can get some more reasonably priced 19" from like TSW or Forgestar. But for people who want 18", options exist.

Additionally, you make it sound like 18" wheels have never fit over 390mm brakes and its caliper. It's been done countless times and not every one of those wheels necessarily costs $1500 a corner.

RE11's are awesome. I hope the 71R's will be made in the bigger sizes. Nearly everyone who runs them in my autocross chapter picked up over a second from the 71's and the 11's. However I kinda don't see that happening.

I would like to pick up a set of 19 x 11 and 19 x 12 wheels and run the 305s and 325s. Assuming offsets work out.
I don't think the 12"/325 will fit well. The 315s on the R already technically poke outside the fender a little bit.

I'm thnking of Forgestars at 19x11" all around.... then a square setup if possible for the tire sizes.

A Bridgestone Rep at the SCCA SOLO Nationals said a 305/30ZR19 RE71 will be available next year. :D

I have the RE-11's on my 370z. Not a bad tire... like them so far.
I've had them for some time on my 350Z and I'm very happy with them. I'm looking forward to trying the RE-71R however.

The 11s are (from what I know) a much more capable wet weather tire than the 71R, but the 71R is quite a bit faster in the dry.

Thanks, shouldn't be a problem in SoCal.

It is just about as expected, isnt it? i think i remember seeing the prices for non R tires and it was about $350 per tire, so that gives you an idea of what was coming.
