Tires are actually hard to come by in my size. The MT Rs dont come in a 19
What have you heard from people using the MT-SS? I have seen where they can be hard to balance and they need to be heated up before they reach optimum traction?
Thanks for your help
Iā€™ve heard they are good just not as good as the R compound. May want to look into getting a drag pack especially for the rears so you can put on bigger tires.

Ar1 and advan 09 are a more "endurance tire" so it takes longer to warm up and be sticky. I wouldn't suggest them.
Rt660 Falken is another good alternative.
I dont have direct experience with the advance apex.
I appreciate the help. Thanks

Question: I see people miss matching tires from the front to the back. I have always been told never mix match manufacturer or model tires for the differences in material, grip ETC can cause driving and or stability issues at high speeds.
Just wondering
Totally fine especially for drag radials. They are meant for the driven tires so in your case you would run them on the rear and a high summer performance tire on the front.

But, I have INDY500 tires now. So I guess leaving the INDYs up front and running drag radials on back wouldn't work?

Donā€™t see any reason why it wouldnā€™t work. Seems like a good idea to me.

I use to run mpss up front and nitto nt555r2 radials on the back. Had no issues, felt fine at 180mph. Now Iā€™m running mpss up front and r888r on the back, also no issues. Going to change the fronts to probably MPS4S as Iā€™m going for a more daily set and just going to save for a drag pack.

That is exactly what most people do

It would be silly to run matching drag radials up front anyway

You definitely like switching out tires. Lol. But that does give good I sight as to what works and what doesn't work. Appreciate the help.

Didn't you say you want grip and good handling also for turning? šŸ˜ƒ

Doug never knows what he wants... give him another year and he will figure out what tires to run.

ZL1 is probably making a lot less power than you keep in mind. My FBO e85 gt is neck and neck with a bolt-on zl1.
This is not a credible statement esp since it appears you have a 2015 GT which make less power FBO E85 than Gen 3 coyotes, and have a huge trans disadvantage. Bolt on 6th Gen ZL1s run in the 6s and some high 5s 60-130 mph. Thatā€™s moving. Even light bolt ons are running high 6s/low 7s. With good conditions stock ZL1s run high 7s 60-130 mph and low 8s with average conditions. They can also run high 10s in the 1/4 with just a tire, otherwise stock. Perhaps you once raced a mild bolt on 5th Gen M6 ZL1 that wasnā€™t really trying?

Wouldn't a FBO SS/LT1 Camaro be close in speed to a FBO gen 3 Coyote?

I don't know much about the 6th gen Camaros other than stock they are pretty close to the Mustang and that the ZL1's will trap well in the 130's with a couple boltons

I would say, Straight line most important. I don't run corners but i want predictability when I have to brake hard or turn fast when needed.
