Okay! So, it was a crank gear. The gear split, but was still able to turn over all of the items on the chain drive. After it bent valves, destroyed cams and even broke the top bearing cradles for the cam. Pretty impressive carnage. I'd love to post pictures, but the forum doesn't like the size of my pictures.

Car is back with a brand new crate engine.

And how much would you say you bounced off the rev limiter? Do you thrash the car on a regular basis? And this isn't to insinuate that you do, just asking.

And how much would you say you bounced off the rev limiter? Do you thrash the car on a regular basis? And this isn't to insinuate that you do, just asking.
The only time that car ever hit the limiter was data logging. Of the 10,000 miles the Whipple was on it, 500 miles was agressive, WOT to 130-150. It's the wife's daily, and shes not hit boost yet!

Ouch (saw the pics). Whats the plan now for the new motor?
New Ford crate motor already installed. Got it back today. Going to put 1000 miles on it and put the Whipple back on. Sending out and OPG and crank gear to be cryo treated next week.

Funny thing is, the new crate motor came with and oil pan that didn't have a provision for the oil level sensor in the pan. Tech had to pull the new engine back out and install the old pan.

Holy sh*t, I just looked at the pics. These OPG's and CSS's seem to be a roll of the dice. You read and hear of some guys going and going with with bolt-ons or FI, and nothing happens. Then you hear of guys having very little or no power mods, and they break 'em. ???

Why not buy billet OPG/CG? What a pain on the oil pan.
