This Mustang of the Moment goes to M6G member Ken Compton (SB1Racing) and his 2015 Mustang EcoBoost build!
From the outset Ken’s goal was to create a 9-second Mustang EcoBoost and to accomplish this he employed the help of Adam Brunson of Tune+, Custom Performance Engineering and MAPerformance — in other words, shops that know a thing or two about fast, even world-record breaking power and speed for the 2.3L EcoBoost Mustang.
With all the tuning and build coordinated by Tune+, from the suspension upgrades to the CP-E Twin Scroll EFR Turbo Kit, and the shortblock engine build and assembly by Modern Automotive Performance, Ken and his EcoBoost Mustang have been in good hands from start to finish and it looks like he is well on his way to achieving his 9-second goal.
Preliminary dyno numbers have the EcoBoost Mustang pushing over 600 horsepower and 542 lb-ft of torque to the wheels on pump gas (E85), with much more room for improvement. And all this while maintaining daily drivability and good gas mileage with total sunk costs of about $44,000 including the price of the vehicle.
