Many Mustang faithful have wondered what will become of the Cobra Jet now that the pony car has an independent rear suspension.
While it remains to be seen whether the future Cobra Jet will use a solid rear axle or retain the S550’s independent rear suspension remains to be seen, Calvert Racing has shown the capabilities of a 3-link rear solid axle kit powered by his 2014 Cobra Jet engine.
In conjunction with Ford Racing, among others, Calvert has been building its test vehicle for the last 5 months at its facilities and recently showed off its capabilities by clocking 8.97 @ 151 mph at the drag strip, making it the first 8-second S550 Mustang!
