S550 Mustang Prices for Australia

When it becomes available later this year, right-hand drive versions of the 2016 Mustang will be officially sold in Australia and prices have just been released for the vehicle.

S550 Mustang fans down under will be happy to know that the pony car that will be replacing the beloved Ford Falcon will be more affordable than its counterparts in regions such as the United Kingdom.

As previously reported, the new Mustang will be offered in two flavors in Oz — the 2.3L EcoBoost Mustang and the V8 Mustang GT, with base prices ranging from $44,990 USD for an EcoBoost Mustang with manual transmission to $63,990 USD for a 5.0L V8 with automatic transmission.

Ford’s quoted driveaway prices for each model include:

  • Fastback, 2.3-litre GTDi I4 EcoBoost, 6-speed manual:  $50,668
  • Fastback, 2.3-litre GTDi I4 EcoBoost, 6-speed automatic:  $53,496
  • Fastback, 5.0-litre Ti-VCT V8, 6-speed manual:  $61,627
  • Fastback, 5.0-litre Ti-VCT V8, 6-speed automatic:  $64,290
  • Convertible, 2.3-litre GTDi I4 EcoBoost, 6-speed automatic:  $60,562
  • Convertible, 5.0-litre Ti-VCT V8, 6-speed automatic:  $71,212

Ford Australia have indicated that there are already 700 confirmed paid deposits for the new Mustang with a further 15,000 “expressions of interest” from interested buyers.
