The new S550 Mustang is scheduled to be featured at Sydney’s New Year’s Eve 2014 fireworks celebration as the city of Sydney has named Ford as an associate partner for the event.
The 2015 Mustang will be showcased at a concert stage under harbour-side, which will provide fantastic placement near the Sydney Harbour Bridge during the Midnight Fireworks Display on December 31.
In addition to this announcement, Ford has updated the Ford Australia website to include the specifications for the 2015 Mustang. As we know, the Mustang is being offered in Australia in both 2.3L EcoBoost and 5.0L GT trim. Oddly, however, Ford Australia has listed the 2015 Mustang GT as being offered with 303kW or 406 HP from the factory, while Ford press materials note that the V8 will come with “more than 420 horsepower” in Oz. Which leaves us, and our Mustang fans in Australia wondering, why the apparent loss in power?
