If these statements from Tasca Parts (seller of OEM parts, including Ford) are to be believed, 2015 Mustang GT owners will be getting one strong block under their hoods. According to Tasca Parts on a recent Facebook post: “Yep, appears to be a factory reinforced block for ’15.”
Additionally: “I also looked up rods and pistons and it’s getting a brand new part number for the pistons but the rods listed are the Boss rods” and “Crank is a new part number as well, ’15 block $999.00, ’15 crank $345.00.”
A strong block obviously means that the potential for some huge horsepower figures are possible and some reputable tuners are already chiming in with guesses that this block may take 1000+ HP. Of course, being able to do so reliably is another story — regardless, this should be great news to S550 Mustang fans.
