The 2015 Mustang Has Improved Audio Systems and Acoustics

One of the big unknowns to date is how the new 2015 Mustang audio system will sound both in-car and on the road.

In its latest press release, Ford assures us that the new S550 Mustang will not only have an audio system that has been improved from the outgoing 2014 model, but one that will provide cleaner, clearer sound with less power and distortion. This is in part due to the completely redesigned platform that has resulted in better aerodynamics, a stronger body structure, and more rigid doors — all of which contribute to the 2015 Mustang’s superior acoustic environment for improved audio fidelity.

As for the audio system options for the 2015 model year, it will be available in three choices: (i) a standard six-speaker system, (ii) a premium nine-speaker system with an eight-inch touchscreen, (iii) a twelve-speaker ShakerPro with trunk-mounted subwoofer.  The 2015 Mustang will also be the first Ford vehicle to feature a high-power, 2.1 amp USB port that charges phones and other devices twice as fast as other ports.
