Racing Brakes Performance recently released a Shelby GT350 carbon ceramic (front) rotor kit and Mustang6G member JAJ may be the first to have tested it out on his GT350.
The RB front 394mm carbon ceramic rotors with RB hat net a total weight savings of 33-pounds over the front axle, which it just so happens is roughly equivalent to the savings one would see if switching from the stock GT350 wheels to the carbon fiber GT350R wheels/tires — for the front, at least.
The benefit with this carbon ceramic rotors kit is that the weight savings remains whether you stick with the stock GT350 wheels or decide to go to the aftermarket for even more weight savings.
As for performance, this GT350 owner had this to say about the RB CCM rotors:
“What I’ve experienced so far is that the straight-up weight reduction makes a BIG difference in how the car drives. I was surprised at how much smoother the front end feels over bumps. To me, that was the real win – better handling on rough surfaces and less disruption from running over curbs. The 350R comes that way out of the box, and now I have it too when I’m running the stock tires and wheels.”
