One of the most anticipated new features of the 2018 Mustang is the new optional, active valve performance exhaust for the 2018 Mustang GT.
This active exhaust allows the driver to select from four exhaust modes — Quiet, Normal, Sport and Track — by using the new pony button which resides on the steering wheel to select on the digital cluster your desired exhaust mode.
Ford is so proud of the acoustics of the V8’s new exhaust system that its engineers mounted microphones on a Mustang GT with the active performance exhaust and recorded the sweet rumble of the valves opening and closing while the 2018 Mustang GT revved its engine in Track mode.
