Tremec Magnum XL T56 S550 Conversion

If your S550 Mustang is making more power than your stock manual transmission can handle or you just don’t care for the semi-remote factory Getrag MT-82, swapping it for the Tremec Magnum XL is likely your best option.

Luckily many of our aftermarket friends like JPC Racing are offering Magnum XL conversion packages for your 2015+ Mustang to do just that.

The Magnum XL features a direct-shift extension housing and a slip yoke style interface that makes it easy to ditch the unpopular 2-piece OEM driveshaft in favor of a more robust 1-piece arrangement.

The heavy duty six-speed Magnum XL has a torque capacity of 700 lb-ft making it among the toughest out-of-the-box factory style manual transmissions you can put in a Mustang and with two overdrive gears, an economical choice as well.

Included in JPC Racing’s conversion kit is of course the Magnum T56 transmission in your choice of one of two available gear ratio options, SPEC Stage 2 Clutch Assembly and Billet Steel Flywheel, Quicktime SFI-approved bell housing, Draftshaft Shop aluminum driveshaft with spicer yoke-style attachment, crossmember and mount and shifter assembly.
